Pick 6 carryover of $28K on Memorial Day Monday at Belmont at the Big A

Keith McCalmont May 25 2025

Monday’s Memorial Day card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $28,224 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $940.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Sunday’s sequence kicked off in Race 4 with the first of three longshot winners for jockey Ruben Silvera as the Rudy Rodriguez-trained Moonlit Weekend [No. 4, $19.60] prevailed in a claiming sprint.

Silvera doubled up in Race 5, a New York-bred maiden claimer over the inner turf, aboard Magni [No. 4, $18.80] for trainer Mitchell Friedman.

Silsbee [No. 4, $5.50*] graduated impressively in Race 6, a six-furlong outer turf maiden for state-breds, with Irad Ortiz, Jr. at the helm for conditioner George Weaver.

Silvera completed his troika of scores with the William Morey-trained Prove Worthy [No. 8, $18.80] in Race 7, a one-turn mile claimer, one race before the David Donk-trained Outtawaterbury [No. 4, $14.20] prevailed under Flavien Prat in Race 8, a 1 1/16-mile claiming event over the inner turf.

With the carryover already confirmed ahead of the Race 9 finale, a 1 1/16-mile maiden claimer for state-breds on the outer turf, Dakota Country [No. 13, $6.50] found the wire first with Hall of Famer Joel Rosario up for trainer Danny Gargan.

Live racing continues on Memorial Day Monday at Belmont at the Big A with a nine-race program. The Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at approximately 2:35 p.m. Eastern with first post for the nine-race card slated for 1:10 p.m.

Following Monday’s card, live racing will then move upstate for the five-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival at Saratoga Race Course from June 4-8 before returning to the Big A on Thursday, June 12.
