Sunday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $114,387 after the multi-race wager went unsolved during Saturday’s 11-race program. The Closing Day program of the Belmont at the Big A spring/summer meet will feature a mandatory payout of all pools.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,588.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The sequence began in Race 6 with Trikari [No. 4, $12.40] springing a mild upset in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational, a 1 3/16-mile outer turf test with Hall of Famer John Velazquez aboard for trainer Graham Motion. Race 7 saw the longest price of the sequence when Sin Nombre [No. 5, $68] captured a seven-furlong dirt claimer with Lane Luzzi in the irons for conditioner Jesus Romero.

Race 8 featured the favored Mullikin [No. 5, $4.40*] victorious in the seven-furlong Grade 2 John A. Nerud with Flavien Prat aboard for trainer Rodolphe Brisset. The following race, the Charlie Appleby-conditioned Cinderella’s Dream [No. 8, $9.30] closed under William Buick to take the Grade 1 Fasig-Tipton Belmont Oaks Invitational in course record time of 1:53.42 going the 1 3/16 miles over the outer turf, in Race 9.

In Race 10, Capture the Flag [No. 7, $5.60] took a one-mile inner turf allowance with Velazquez in the irons for Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher.

With 6-of-8 entries left uncovered in the final leg [Race 11], the Hall of Famer Bill Mott-trained and Jose Lezcano-piloted favorite Tap to Mischief [No. 2, $29.60] triggered the carryover after taking the six-furlong outer turf maiden tilt.

Sunday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at approximately 2:35 p.m. Eastern. First post on the nine-race card, which features the state-bred $125,000 Hudson Valley [Race 2] and the state-bred $125,000 Port Washington [Race 5], is 1:05 p.m. Eastern.
