  KIDS
Saratoga is always a great place to bring the kids. The beautiful backyard at Saratoga is an ideal setting for picnics while watching the horses saddle in the Paddock.

BREAKFAST PROGRAM - TRAM TOUR / PADDOCK SHOW / STARTING GATE DEMONSTRATION

While enjoying the morning, there are also opportunities to take a free tour of the barn area (weather permitting). An open-air tram will take you from the front of the clubhouse to the historic stable area where a walking tour of the barn area will prove interesting, informative and fun. While in the barn area, you will also see a Paddock Show where a typical "day in the life of a Thoroughbred" will be detailed (using a real horse!), and a Starting Gate demonstration which shows how horses must be schooled in the gate and taught how to break from it before they are allowed to race.

The first tour leaves the main Clubhouse entrance at 8 a.m. with 5 additional trams leaving approximately every 15 minutes. The last tour departs at around 9:15 a.m. (The Tram Tour is available every race day except Travers Day, Saturday, August 25, 2007, and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2007.)

To make your visit as enjoyable as possible, we offer the following Tram Tour Tips:
* Due to the huge popularity of the tour, trams are often full to capacity way before departure time. We strongly suggest that you plan your morning accordingly. Experience has shown that the trams popularity increases as the morning progresses.
* No reservations are accepted. Trams are filled on a first come first serve basis.
* Tour is roughly 45 minutes in length from start to finish.
* Last tour leaves at 9:15 or when the last tram is full to capacity.
* The last tram tour of the morning is the most popular and for that reason, there are times when people must be turned away. In the event that does occur, we hope that you will consider taking the tour on your next visit.
