The BROADWAY Handicap was first run in 1980. A handicap race for fillies and mares, it is named for the strip in New York City that is famous for its hit shows and musicals. In 1983, Aqueduct was the stage for the visiting cast of the hit Broadway musical "42nd Street."
Run at six furlongs from 1980 to 1982, one mile and seventy yards from 1983 to 1993, and one mile in 1994 and 1995. Run in two divisions in 1999.
